Olympian | Director, Brisbane 2032 Engagement
High-performance environments have shaped my career for more than two decades. First as an athlete representing Australia. Now as a leader representing the institutions I serve and building the systems that enable others to thrive.
Throughout that journey, one question has guided my work: how do we build environments where capability can thrive at scale?
I represented Australia at the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games in short track speed skating before transitioning to track cycling, earning a medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Games. Elite sport taught me resilience and discipline. It also reinforced that performance is never a solo act. Behind every visible result sits a team, a system and a set of standards that make success repeatable.
After retiring from competition, I shifted my focus from personal performance to system performance.
Today, I work across government, universities, organising committees, international federations and industry to align strategy, capability and delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. My work sits at the intersection of sport, technology and leadership, with a focus on strengthening collaboration, integrating digital capability and expanding access.
As Director, Brisbane 2032 Engagement at Queensland University of Technology, I lead the University’s institutional approach to engagement with the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This includes positioning QUT as a targeted delivery partner across priority areas, establishing coordinated pathways for industry, government and community engagement, and ensuring that opportunities translate into meaningful outcomes for students, research and broader societal impact.
This work requires balancing agility with institutional alignment, connecting research, education and external engagement into a coherent framework that can respond to the evolving needs of the Games while contributing to long-term legacy outcomes.
Beyond the university context, I advise governments and international sport bodies on innovation strategy and international cooperation. I support non-profit organisations advancing social impact through sport and provide guidance to small and medium enterprises navigating growth and innovation challenges. I believe sport, when designed intentionally, can influence education, wellbeing, diplomacy and economic development.
I have been recognised among Australia’s Top 100 Innovators in Sports Technology and contribute to global conversations as an awards judge and international sport delegate.
Across all roles, I bring an elite mindset grounded in integrity, governance and collaboration.
I build systems that enable others to perform at their best. My work is driven by a commitment to designing environments where capability is sustainable, inclusive and scalable.
